Handrails, benches, boxes & more

If you have been to out DECK PLANNER page you will be aware that there is an endless array of items with which you can adorn your deck. The most common however are handrails, planter boxes and benches (benches often double as storage compartments). If we could sneak two more in we would add screens and staircases.

Handrails are a legal requirement if your deck is more than 1 meter off the ground. Common handrails in the Adelaide area include stainless steel wire, steel mesh, Glass and pickets. Laser cut metal screens and natural log handrail infills however are becoming increasingly popular, as are the addition of LED light-strips to the underside of handrails. Handrails on decking in Adelaide

The most common handrails in Adelaide and South Australia are treated pine posts (painted or oiled) with either a treated pine handrail on top or a handrail that matches the decking boards with stainless steel wires. Benches & Boxes on decking in Adelaide

The only time we see a deck with nothing on it is right after we have finished it. Often within minutes our clients start dragging pot plants, BBQ's and furniture onto their brand new deck. Staircases & Screens on decking in Adelaide

Staircases are often not given much consideration by people planning decks. They can however be a real focal piece. We can build them to blend in perfectly with your deck, or make them really stand out!
